I think the reason he over complicates the whole Spam Bot Avoidance thing is so that when no one replies he can lie to himself and blame it on people screwing up his "instructions". He makes it seem much more difficult than it actually is.
This whole ad could have been written in two sentences. Succinct writing is apparently not one of Marc's strong points.
